It is insane how in 9 years Alex went from using what I can only assume was a built in mic with his heavy slavish accent to a professional grade mic, and a much more understandable accent.

Watched these as a middle schooler, coming back to em I gotta say they hold up pretty well. I appreciate that there are these small moments, like the main character's pickaxe nearing it's breaking point, and how that leads to this long mining sequence when it really could have just been "I have enough iron to make an anvil, I will do so now". I wouldn't go so far as to say it's really "telling a story", but these little plot beats for each episode do a great job of communicating what Minecraft feels like to play. It IS a constant battle of "okay let's make some hoppers. check my chests... Great, I'm completely out of wood." Or when the main character does something "badass" right after having failed a simple task, the single player experience is FILLED with those moments that you can't really express to someone else in a way that will be as funny or as cool as it was in the moment. And multiplayer, primarily as a new player, is constantly filled with the feeling that your builds pale in comparison to other players, or that you are lagging behind somehow. The emotions that the main character experiences are extremely accurate to the average players lived experience, and I don't know how much that gets mentioned in the comments of these. Just coming back after so many years I'm genuinely surprised at the quality of these videos
